Weigh-In Week #10

When I first started blogging about my journey, I was religious with sharing my weigh-ins. I think it's time to start doing it again so I can look at where I'm having success and where I need to make some changes.

Last week: 193.5 lbs
This week: 193.4 lbs
Weekly loss: -0.1 lbs
Total loss (from Jan 1): 9.4 lbs
% loss: 4.6%

You know... I can't even be mad. I was fully prepared to go up. I ate like crap this week. I've loosely logged. I ran on Saturday and Monday... and that's it. I did yoga daily, threw in some cycling and a Zumba workout, but my activity level was so low this week compared to the rest of the year. However, I learned something really important in the realm of food. For the past few weeks, I've been getting sick to my stomach on Saturday night or Sunday afternoon. Every weekend for us usually involves a trip to a brewery, then dinner at a restaurant where I always end up with something naughty. Valentine's Day weekend was the worst -- I ended up hovering over the toilet (so romantic, right?) because of a toxic combination of alcohol and bad food. Last weekend, I even tried a healthier option at lunch, but had a beer at Troegs before we went out to dinner and wound up ready to puke during my run.

Why am I analyzing this? Well, Wednesday night, I was just done, emotionally drained. After getting my hair done (for the second time, mind you), I called the BF and asked him if he'd want Ruby Tuesday for dinner. Knowing full well I'd end up sick from the fried food, I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich.

Ate every. last. bite.

Instantly regretted it.

Didn't get sick.

WHAT?!

Looking back on this, I'm thinking that the combination of alcohol and food is the issue. My body for some reason can't handle it anymore. I don't typically drink through the week and I eat pretty cleanly, so the combination is just... bad. We have plans to go to lunch at a microbrewery tomorrow and I'm going to skip the beer (who am I?!), just indulge in naughty food, and see how I feel.

That's the most frustrating thing about this weight loss thing... it's all experimentation. I wish someone could just give me the answers and be done with it, but it's truly a testament to the fact that there is no secret. Obviously you have to eat less and better and move more... but the specifics of what works for one person are so different from what works for another.

Onward.

This week's non-scale victory? Trying on a dress in a large and having to return it for a medium. Score!
